UHRE

Undergraduate Health Research Exploration

The UHRE program

UHRE is a student-led initiative with the generous support of York University’s Agents of Change program, and the Faculty of Health. Our organization recognizes that as health researchers, we tackle questions that fundamentally impact our communities. We believe that in order to holistically address the problems of modern health, we must encourage as many people as possible to engage with health research. UHRE aims to strengthen the body of next-generation researchers in order to drive a diverse scientific body in service of the communities we serve. To that end, we provide resources and other opportunities that facilitate equitable access for students to get involved and engaged with health research.

If this vision resonates with you, we invite you to participate in our engagements, and collaborate with our team!

“Our organization fosters curiosity and dedication to health sciences through an annual Research Exploration Summit, our Research Mentorship Matching Program (URMP), a Health Research Newsletter and an annual international Conference for Undergraduate Health Research (CUHR).”

  • CUHR CONFERENCE

The Conference for Undergraduate Health Research (CUHR) invites undergraduate researchers globally to participate in a 2-day interdisciplinary conference that exposes presenters and participants to new health topics, and a chance to win prestigious UHRE conference awards.

  • CURATED HEALTH NEWS

The UHRE Health Research Exploration Newsletter sends weekly curated academic articles on new findings in Health Research, with brief editor notes with all the main points you should know to stay informed with the field, as well as question prompts to practice your research literacy.

“We believe that transformational work is done by transformational people. Each one of us carries the potential to ignite change in the way we think about health. UHRE is a student-led organization that is committed to giving as many people as possible the tools, knowledge, and wisdom for future transformational leaders in health research to pursue their ideas, and answer their burning questions!”
